Coco 8 x 10 Acrylic on canvas

I've been super busy lately getting our house ready to put on the market. In the mean time I did this little one to maintain a little sanity and get some studio time in. I tried to keep her loose and stay a little more minimalistic. I think she's pretty adorable

Rupert 12 x 12

Rupert is my first commemorative piece. Sending love and prayers on this difficult day to Mandy West (and family) for the loss of their one eyed fur baby, xo

Meet Travis. He is my first pet portrait and he went to his new home last night. I was pretty pleased with the results and he was LOTS of fun to paint....but I'm not too sure what the real Travis thinks,

Here is a closer picture of the painting.  Please excuse the photo, it was taken before his final coat of glass, and he has a bit of a glare

Herman 16 x 20 Acrylic on raised canvas

I think Herons have such a quirky look to them, and I love seeing them now and again, flying around our home.  I'm pleased with how this guy came together, and I discovered a new favorite blue in the process,

What a day!

What a day!! I haven't had much time to paint lately, as I've got two kids home with strep throat, and I've been busy packaging up three different parcels today Two of them are going to Calgary and one is going to Idaho (how cool is that). I hope everyone loves their new paintings

Morton 24 x 12 Acrylic on raised canvas

Another one in my owl series but with a slightly different composition. I went with my favorite bright aqua in the background. I'm using it sparingly as Liquidex has discontinued this colour (I've tried to mix it myself, but I just can't seem to keep the vibrancy as what you get straight from the tube). I like the contrast of the sky to the ground, and I love his bushy eyebrows,

Sad Puppy 12 x 12 Acrylic on Raised Canvas

I  should have called this painting perseverance (I almost did ). I've probably tried this reference photo seven different times - I feel like I could keep tweaking the values over and over. I love the expression on this one, and will try another one sometime soon (even if it's just to see if I can do it again),
